Due to last minute volunteer drop outs, KCCEB is in need of bilingual (Korean and English) volunteers for a community health access clinic tomorrow, 9/14, at the Korean Central Presbyterian Church in Daly City.
The clinic is from 1:00 to 4:00 and volunteers would need to assist clients with form filling, letter writing, document translation, etc. If interested, you can email angielee@kcceb.org as soon as possible!

The Oakland Korean United Methodist Church (OKUMC) partners with the California Food Bank to provide food for the needy every third Friday of the month.
The Korean Community Center of the East Bay is proud to announce we have been working with the OKUMC for the past several months to assist them during this awesome food drive.
Volunteers will need to do the following:
Commit to work from 9:30 AM – 3:00 PM the day of the food drive.
Help set up.
Distribute food.
Help clean up.

I’m currently looking for Korean speaking volunteers to participate in our Senior Companionship Project. The project consists of one hour sessions, every Friday from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at a local home in Oakland. Volunteers will do several activities with senior residents, such as game days, arts & crafts, family story days, etc. Volunteers MUST be able to commit to the time, and following days:

Hello readers! I present an amazing volunteer opportunity here in Oakland, California.
Alameda County allots a certain amount of the budget to go towards feeding underpivileged Oakland residents. The Oakland Korean United Methdoist Church (OKUMC) is one of the designated distibutors, and each month they pass out 12,000 ponds of food to the needy. The church is located on E. 17th street, in an area that is mostly populated with Vietnamese and Chinese residents. The residents are low-income, and the majority have very limited English language skils. This food drive provides a great service, and I’m sure many of us know from personal experience that it truly lends a helping hand.
SInce the church is comprised of Korean members, and our volunteers are also Korean-American, we feel there is a need for Vietnamese and Cantonese/Mandarin speaking volunteers to help communicate and connect with the community and help things run smoothly. The food drive takes place each third Friday of the month, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM (that time frame includes set up and clean up, and lunch will be provided for volunters by church members).
